Areas of focus

What I often work on
with people in therapy.

Relationships

Individual or couples therapy for recurring arguments, betrayal, sex and intimacy, family, religious or cultural differences, and difficulty trusting or depending on a partner.

Health concerns (including fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum)

Therapy for cancer, a new diagnosis, chronic illness or pain, health anxiety, infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum changes. This can include postpartum depression or anxiety, intrusive thoughts, returning to work, changes in identity and relationships, becoming a family, negotiating roles, parenting, and maintaining a sense of self.

Residency/fellowship, healthcare professionals, and people in difficult workplaces

I work with residents, fellows, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and people dealing with workplace conflict, impossible expectations, chronic vigilance, or burnout. We can talk about the strain of functioning inside a job or institution you cannot easily trust or leave, how the work affects your relationships, and who you are outside it.

Identity and life transitions

Therapy for life changes through new relationships, marriage, divorce, parenthood, career changes, loss, or shifts in how you feel, identify, and express your religious, cultural, gender, or sexual self. (For more on the latter, I am also a proud Bikirbecha mental health provider.)
